Sterling Heights, Michigan

Edgerton Cemetery was established in the 1830s as a family burial ground on approximately 1.84 acres of land. The cemetery is located on the site of what was originally the Edgerton family farm. Edgerton Cemetery is an important local historic site as it is the resting place for area pioneer families, many of them members of the Sterling Township's German farming community.  Please use care and respect at this site.  Obey dawn to dusk regulations unless given permission from local police to be there after dark.

Edgerton: The cemetery on the hill

One night not too long ago a friend of mine named Dee asked me a question?  Dee said have you ever been to Edgerton cemetery?  I said no, where’s that at in our area?  She said lets get in the car and drive, I’ll show you where it is.  The sun was setting and it was around 9:00 PM at night on a weekday.  This cemetery was on a hill surrounded by big apartment buildings and 2 level condominiums.  There were no keep out signs or locks on the gate surrounding the cemetery, just a sign saying that it was a historical sight.  We started taking pictures and soon we were getting small dots on the camera, known as orbs.  The sense of someone watching me was growing stronger as the minutes passed.  I asked Dee to get out the sound equipment and Paul to start taking photos.  We soon were engaged in taking EVP samples.    I knew that this would not be our last time to Edgerton cemetery.

Three days later Dee, I and 3 more group members went back to Edgerton cemetery engaged in a full investigation.  I filled in the group members about where we were getting the strongest feelings.  Paul was snapping photos of orbs left and right.  Dee was with him as a back up taking EVP samples.  I was making my way up the hill with the rest of the team as they were taking photos and EVPs.  One of our investigators said to me that she was not getting any vibes down at the bottom of the hill in the corner by the grave of Sarah Upton.  Then at the top of the hill she says I am getting that feeling again.  She asked out loud “Are you the lady named Sarah Upton buried at the bottom of the hill?”  Later, while reviewing the EVPs, the voice caught on the digital tape recorder says with a long whisper as it trails off into the distance  “No………”.  There were also many powerful orange and bright white orbs taken during the two nights of investigation.  Now, as the weather is getting cooler and the nights are growing longer, we here at PIRCOM are trying to get in the last investigations of the late summer and early fall season.

MAY, 2009 UPDATE
On a return trip to Edgerton Cemetery we were able to collect the following photos in sequence.  Notice how the large orb is tracked on film as it follows me around this particular part of the cemetery.  Now please keep in mind, it was quite a cool evening, in the low 40's and there were absolutely no bugs to be found in the air.  At one point I asked if the spirit would give me a sign of it's presence and I heard footsteps echoing my own in the grass behind me.  I asked the spirit to please do that again, and steps were heard immediately as I began walking again...then instantly stopped.  Many of these photos were taken over my shoulder as I walked along with the mysterious footsteps, and once the sounds stopped, no more orbs appeared in my photos!
