Union Chapel Cemetery
Inkster, Michigan
It was early December, 2007 when we showed up at the Union Chapel Cemetery in Inkster, Michigan for our first visit. The time was about 8:00 PM when we pulled up in my PT Cruiser. The cemetery was next to an abandoned store. We thought that
we were at the wrong place until Dee got out and checked the sign above the cemetery gates. She
came back and said yes we are in the right place but no one is here yet. Then
two cars pulled up with all the people we were to meet that night. The older
of the ladies unlocked the cemetery gates and let us in. I found out later she
is the caretaker of Union Chapel Cemetery. The group started out with
the EMF (Electro Magnetic Field) sweeps of the cemetery. The sweeps came up negative.
Then we moved on to taking photos to prove that there were signs of spirits lurking around. In the winter it is very hard to prove that, for when it snows it looks just like orbs in the photos. Also, human breath can be mistaken for ectoplasm mist. This is why we try and limit the cemetery investigations to the late spring/ all summer long and early
fall. I started getting quizzed by everyone as to what I “felt” when
I stood by this head stone and this one and so on. I came up to the backside
of one head stone and the ladies asked what I felt? I said I feel the spirit
of a WWII soldier. They looked puzzled as they looked at me. They escorted me around to the front and said we were talking about this soldier. The soldier in question was a gulf war vet. I looked at the
one next to his and it was of the soldiers grandfather…a WWII vet. I said
sorry I must have been tuned in to this spirit! That happens a lot to me. I didn’t feel the spirit of the gulf war vet.
That meant either he was over on the other side or just plain not around. Then
most of us split up again and started looking for more signs of active spirits in the cemetery.
In about 30 minutes we were all standing next to a grave
by the main gate. The caretaker was standing in front of one particular headstone. It was a nephew of hers. She told a story
about how he was killed under mysterious circumstances. His death was written
off as unexplained. There, that cold December night she layed it all out. All of the details I will not repeat for she asked us not to. Then we got out our divining rods to see if we could talk to his spirit if he was around. Not more than 2 minutes passed as the rods started to respond to our questions. The 3rd question was “are you the spirit of her nephew?”
The answer was yessss! The nephew’s aunt and cousins asked many
questions that night. Like “do you remember aunt_____?” The rods
then responded dramatically by pointing straight at his aunt! She started crying
as were many others in the group. The one psychic in our group, Leslie, was also
talking to him. She told her that “he says he loves you”. Then the
diving rods crossed tightly together meaning yes! Many questions were answered
as tears were shed that night at Union Chapel Cemetery.
