Description of location and surrounding area: 12 room, 2 story Victorian

            home on basement with accessible attic located in residential

            neighborhood approximately ¾ mile from Lake St. Clair.

Area history: Historically, in the days of the wooden freighters, Marine City was known as a ship building center of the Great Lakes. Because of this status, many captains and sailors made their homes here, as evidenced by the grand residential architecture throughout the historic downtown area. Gracious Victorian "Painted Ladies" sit side by side with turn of the century cottages. The area of Marine City had been Ojibwa territory for centuries before the first European contact. French trappers and missionaries settled in Detroit and nearby areas during the colonial period. The first Catholic Church was built by French Catholics at Catholic Point, where they had bought land before the United States was formed.

            It was not until after the American Revolution that European-American settlers arrived in any number. In the 1780s they obtained a deed for land from the Chippewa Indians. The Americans called the community "Yankee Point", because so many settlers came from the Northern Tier of states, with late 18th and 19th century migration originating from New England. They also called the settlement "Belle River", later the name of a neighborhood.

           The village was platted as Newport in 1835-37. Although never incorporated by that name, it was known as "Newport" for 31 years. In 1865, it was incorporated as the Village of Marine City. Thriving on lumber and other commodity trade, the village re-incorporated as a city in June 1887.

Client claims: Tiffany and Jeremy have lived in the house for about a month

            and she has experienced hot/cold spots, noises (footsteps on 2^nd floor

            and following her), door to upstairs bathroom opens whenever she

            takes a shower, lights refuse to cooperate when trying to turn them on

            and off (electric wiring was redone within last 3 years). Jeremy has

            experienced a male voice near back stairs, whispering in his ears,

            sounds of doors opening and closing, smells burning scent in upstairs

            bedroom (red room), has been physically attacked-hit in chest &

            abdomen, pushed off of his feet in red room, pushed off of and down

            the stairs. Recent guest in home was also pushed down the stairs, pet

            iguana becomes agitated in cage between 2:45 and 3:15 AM every

            night since moving in. Gas on stove was found on “6” (no flame) by

            Tiffany when no one had been home to turn on the stove. Children of

            former owner were known to talk to and gesture to spirit of a woman

            in the children’s bedroom closets. Jeremy’s children do not want to be

            upstairs and wake up screaming on several occasions.

            recording to VCRs, 2 infrared video cameras, dowsing rods,

            EMF/temp. data recorder, PX box, K-2 meter, ghost box

Equipment placement: 1^st surveillance camera in red bedroom with 1 digital

            audio recorder, 2^nd surveillance camera in purple bedroom with 1

            digital audio recorder, VCR and monitor in upstairs hallway between

            red and purple bedrooms. 3^rd surveillance camera in first floor foyer

            pointing up staircase with VCR and monitor. 1 infrared video camera

            on tripod in third floor attic pointing toward unfinished portion.  All

            other equipment was hand held by investigators throughout

            investigation.

Psychic/Medium perceptions prior to arrival: Without any prior

            knowledge of the site or case history Leslie emailed perceptions on

            July 30 that stated: The vibes and feelings I get regarding the

            poltergeist activity in the home in Marine City, MI, are not of a

            malevolent spirit or demonic. This spirit is an angry young woman who

            is experiencing negative behavior in the home. This could be a case of

            domestic abuse going on here. This woman in white with blue hair

            ribbons protects the wife and children of current occupants. There are

            two girl spirits, one 18 and the other 13, perhaps sisters. I am seeing

            alcohol (beer). Not sure if she’s showing me what happened to her, or

            what is actually going on in the home as of present. The male in the

            home is getting attacked and scratched. I do not feel this activity is

            toward the children. The female spirit feels it’s her duty to protect

            them. One particular room is targeted over the others. I’m getting a

            huge headache; I’m feeling this young lady (18) died of a blunt force

            head trauma. I see her at the bottom of the stairs in a pool of blood.

            Argument between father and daughter over a boy she was dating.

            Names of girls are, Susan (who haunts the present father in the house.

            This is a family of three spirits in this house. Father is still there too. I

            have been warned that the father will try to scare us during our

            investigation.        

Psychic/Medium perceptions during investigation: While the team took a

            tour of the inside of the home, I (Leslie) stood on the front porch and

            also walked outside to the left side of the home. I kept getting a

            headache on the left side of my temple, as if I had been hit with an

            object, causing blunt force trauma to my head. I began honing in on

            the feelings I was getting in and around the home. I felt that the

            basement was clear and then felt something negative draw me to a left

            bedroom up on the second floor. Dee came out to get me so we could

            begin our walk through. I expressed how the basement and first floor

            of the home was not a problem and was clear of anything to worry

            about. Yes, the basement did hold several residual hauntings but

            nothing that would harm or scare anyone because it’s an imprint of

            energy from those who had lived there previously. While down in the

            basement, Dee and I both felt the energy from the spirit of a young girl.

            As we walked through the basement the youngest girl continued to

            hold Dee’s hand. I believe she did that because she felt Dee was

            someone she could trust. I felt that a piano was played in the room that

            is now the kitchen. I told the team that the house is not original inside.

            Kitchen had been moved, the half bath was placed in the original

            pantry, and the space for the bathroom up on the second floor was

            actually taken from the red bedroom. I felt the need to hang on to the

            railing when heading up to the second floor, because when I first

            walked in the house, I visualized an older teen lying on the floor with a

            pool of blood surrounding her head. I also got a vision of a girl

            wearing a white gown, with a blue ribbon in her hair who is the

            younger sister. Once I reached the top of the stairs it felt as if I had

            walked into a wall, it stopped me in my tracks, not wanting me up

            there, making me very light headed and made me feel I couldn’t

            breathe. The feeling of dread encompassed! The front of the house

            was fine, except where the girl had been pushed over the railing. I felt

            that the girls were there to protect the children, especially the older

            girl. I walked into the red bedroom, which was the room I felt earlier

            that had someone negative in it. I felt this was a very controlling and

            abusive man, and the father of the girls. This is the room I felt that the

            man of the house was being physically attacked. Directly above this

            red room in the attic, is where this man hung himself. As I stood in the

            doorway of the attic, I saw him sitting back over by where the red

            bedroom would be below. He dared me to come into his space…..I

            did not trust him, therefore declined his invitation, especially since the

            floor wasn’t sturdy. I had seen the number’s 444 (which is a symbol of

            death and danger to me) two days prior to the investigation and knew

            caution was a must. I also felt that there was negativity and abuse

            going on between the couple who lived there, more her then him. He

            makes them fight….he likes it!! The girls and other souls are trapped

            there, he won’t let them go. If you cross him over, you must do it in

            the red room. If crossing the children do it in the front bedroom.

Investigator personal experiences on site: Dee felt a cold spot and

            simultaneous EMF spike on meter to .13 briefly in unfinished portion

            of third floor attic during EVP session. Dee also felt a tingling on right

            hand down in basement boiler room, verified by Leslie, as if

            someone was holding her hand. Sensation continued until she crossed

            the threshold into front area of basement. Sensation returned on 2^nd

            floor as she walked down hallway towards red room for an EVP

            session, but did not continue into the room.

Investigation summary: PIRCOM team arrived at 8:00PM where we were

            met by Paul. Paul introduced us to clients, Tiffany and Jeremy. Clients

            took investigators on a tour of the home and property stating their

            claims of activity while Leslie waited outside. Following client tour,

            Leslie conducted a psychic walk through and then met with the clients

            to discuss her impressions. Many of her impressions were verified by

            the clients. Team members had a meeting to discuss investigation plan

            and equipment placement. Leslie talked to clients personally while

            teams set up equipment and headed to the attic for an EVP session at

            9:30 PM. Following attic session we split into two teams. Team 1

            (Dee and Terri) headed to the basement for an EVP/K-2/PX box

            session while Team 2 (Mark, Paul, Leslie) headed to the upstairs red

            and purple bedrooms for EVP and ghost box session. Teams switched

            places at 10:30 and continued investigating with their equipment.

            PIRCOM concluded that Jeremy was sensitive to the paranormal

            happenings in the home and at 11:00 PM teams came together and 

            invited clients to the red bedroom for a final session which resulted in

            Jeremy reporting to see and hear the spirit of Charles. Following this

            session, Leslie took time to talk with clients about Jeremy’s “gift” as

            the rest of the team packed equipment.

Evidence review and findings: The following EVP’s were captured:

            Digital audio recorder from Red Bedroom-

·         One min four sec: lots of indistinguishable whispering while we were all downstairs

·         Seven min twenty nine sec: breath at end

·         Twenty seven min ten sec: Possible running footsteps and child’s voice says “ha ha” in room while we were all downstairs

·         One hour nine min: Terri says she cannot see anything upon entering the room and a voice responds “Right here”.

·         One hour ten min fifty five sec: whispering in the middle possibly says “Why are you up here?” when Dee and Terri were settling in to do EVP session

·         One hour twenty six min seventeen sec: indistinguishable whispering at beginning followed by “That’s Me”

·         One hour forty seven min fifty four sec: “Saph” is whispered loudly/harshly-This is possibly the same of former homeowner, Val R. Saph.

·         Five min thirty sec: loud whisper “Hey”

            Basement handheld night vision video:

·         11 min 38 sec: orb shoots through screen, only one all night

            Red Bedroom handheld night vision video:

·         3 min 33sec: orb comes from door when Dee asked if the “man of the house” was present

·         6 min 40 sec: two orbs

·         12 min 36 sec: orb comes from closet

            Follow up visit dining room hand held digital audio recorder:

·         7 min 23 sec: whispers saying “Hey Megan, we’ve got Terri Briones” (name of our investigator who was holding recorder)

            Follow up visit upstairs front bedroom hand held digital audio

            recorder:

·         8 min 43 sec: robotic female whisper echoes Dee’s joke saying “Scratching on the wall” followed by a child’s voice saying “OK"

            above. Steve was not privy to any information surrounding this case

            prior to his arrival. His pre-perceptions while driving to the location

            were:

Someone died in the upstairs bathroom tub.

Lots of psycho-kinetic energy-things have been thrown.

Left side of house contains a lot of energy, feels heavy.

Little kid spirits, sounds of babies crying, sadness.

Funeral was held in living room in the late 1800’s to early

     1900’s.

Cemeteries and Native American burial ground located nearby

     is helping feed energy to this property.

Lots of death and murder associated with this house.

Boy child came home through backdoor, laid metal lunch pail

     on kitchen counter and found murdered person. Boy is

     wearing plaid, 1950’s-1960’s.

Dark spirit hangs out through house, but mainly near

     basement stairway…possibly demonic? 

House may be a lost cause…beyond the hopes of simple

     cleansing rituals.

Upon arriving at the location Steve met the clients and took a walk

through of the house where he hit upon many of the same energies and

‘spirits’ as Leslie had the previous week. He then met with Jeremy

and discussed how he was dealing with his newly discovered abilities

and then the team met with Jeremy upstairs in the Red Bedroom to

confront the spirit that has been physically attacking him. Following this

session Jeremy led the team up to the third floor attic where he told

Steve that a female spirit was asking to be ‘released’. Steve said a

prayer and both claimed to see the spirit ascend through the ceiling. At

conclusion of our time with Jeremy, Steve led a prayer in the foyer of

the home and Jeremy mentioned that the home felt ‘lighter’ and was

finally feeling at ease in the home. PIRCOM hopes these feelings of

peace in the home and confidence Jeremy felt with his ability to stand

his ground in his home will continue. We plan to remain in contact with

these clients for future follow ups on both situations.
